Competitive sports will finally return to Colorado in June after the coronavirus pandemic shutdown all major athletic events around the state.

The 26th annual CoBank Colorado Women’s Open golf tournament is set to take place June 3-5 at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. The event has a purse of $150,000 with the winner taking home $50,000 with a 15-year exemption into future events.

LPGA player and Colorado native Jennifer Kupcho is the headliner of the event. Her storied amateur career is well known as she won the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur in 2019.

In addition to Kupcho, the field will feature five LPGA professionals along with 13 of the top 100 Symetra Tour players. It’s sure to be a competitive CoBank Colorado Women’s Open this year, though the only downside is there will be no spectators allowed on the course.

Players and fans are eager to get back to action and the CoBank Colorado Women’s Open is the first step in doing so, as the PGA Tour will start things back up on June 11, followed by both LPGA and Symetra Tour.
