Measure E allows seniors
and grandchildren to stay
I’ve lived in San Jose my entire life. I’ve seen the city change from the Valley of Heart’s Delight into the capital of Silicon Valley.
What hasn’t changed is the strong sense of community and the idea that if you work hard and play by the rules, you can make it here. Yet we’re living in a community now where it costs so much to live that seniors on a fixed income, who also have lived here for years, can’t afford to stay.
As a mother, I consider myself lucky to have a home here, but will not likely see my grandchildren grow up here. I, like so many of my friends and neighbors, have seen my children leave San Jose.

We can’t and shouldn’t let that continue. Let’s support Measure E so San Jose can remain a place for all of us to live — young and old alike.
