Good news for beauty lovers, Christmas shopping just got even easier as Tesco has made a major change to its website, adding hundreds of new products, including make-up.
The big update includes cosmetics from the likes of Rimmel and Sally Hansen, and there are plans for the supermarket to add even more beauty items by L’Oréal Paris and Maybelline in 2024.
This is the first time Tesco has ever offered these items for home delivery, and the change comes courtesy of customer feedback, with ‘mascara’ recently becoming one of the top 20 most searched-for products on Tesco.com.
Searches for ‘Rimmel’ and ‘Maybelline’ are also thought to have proved popular with customers online, despite these brands not previously being available to purchase on the supermarket’s website.
Some of the cosmetics now available on the website include Rimmel Wonder Volume Mascara as well as the Rimmel Thrill Seeker Mascara, Rimmel Lasting Finish 25Hr Foundation, and Sally Hansen nail products such as Hard as Nails Nude, Miracle Cure and Double Duty Base and Top Coat.
In addition to home delivery, shoppers can also order these products for click and collect. Deliveries are available from the majority of stores right now, with a full online roll-out planned for the new year.
Those with a Tesco Clubcard are also currently able to take advantage of a promotion on these products as part of a beauty offer valid for home delivery. This deal, which runs until December 5, allows shoppers to get three for two with Clubcard Price, getting the cheapest product free.
Tom Lye, Tesco Category Director for Health and Beauty, told The Mirror: ‘Customers tell us that they often search on our website and app for makeup and nail products, so we are incredibly excited to be able to answer their beauty needs for the first time, and bring customers even more of the products they are looking for at Tesco.’
This comes after Tesco announced earlier this week they were introducing new ‘magic’ tills that scan your items while you shop to save time at the checkout.

Customers at the Tesco Express Fulham Reach – known as ‘GetGo’ – will be the first to try these out by walking up to the scan-free checkout. The tills will then automatically present them with a list of the products they have picked up.
The supermarket giant says this change will save customers the hassle of scanning items at a self-service, or going through a regular checkout. The cutting-edge technology involves the use of sensors and cameras dotted around the store to ‘see’ what people are buying.
Shoppers are then asked to double check the list of store products presented to them at the till …read more
