Susanna Reid pulled out of Good Morning Britain today due to a family emergency.

The ITV host, 53, had just returned to the early morning programme after taking a summer break, but was forced to drop out.

Filling in for her spot, alongside co-presenter Ed Balls, Ranvir Singh explained: ‘You’ll be wondering where Susanna is, one of her boys has been taken ill overnight and she needed to stay with him, so we are here for you this morning.’

This comes after Susanna revealed she’d spent some of her summer holiday with her sons in Ibiza.

She said: ‘I’ve been going for ten years and it was amazing to really enjoy it with my boys now they are old enough to go clubbing.

‘We go to the day clubs together and then I go back to the hotel and they go to the nightclubs!’

Susanna, who largely keeps her private and family life out of the spotlight, has three sons with ex-partner Dominic Cotton.

They were together for 16 years, but announced their split in 2014.

Her boys, Sam, Finn and Jack, are in their early 20s, with Susanna admitting she was ‘crying her heart out’ when her youngest left home to go to university in 2022.

More to come…

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1.
