Rylan Clark recently revealed he was at risk of being kidnapped by pirates while shooting for his upcoming TV show, Dating Naked UK.

The 35-year-old TV presenter spent a month filming the Paramount+ series in Colombia, where he said that pirates were a ‘genuine concern.’

He explained that his status as a person of note from Europe put him at risk of abduction by pirates seeking ransom.

In an interview with The Sun on Sunday, Clark shared the downsides of the filming location.

He said: ‘I was out there for a month, and they are quite liberal, but the one thing I had to worry about was being a person of note from Europe- so a genuine concern was pirates.’

Despite the seemingly surreal threat, Clark explained that the presence of actual pirates in the vicinity was a significant concern during production, especially when filming at night.

The presenter joked that the pirates would have gotten rid of him in ’15 minutes’ (Picture: ITV)

He elaborated: ‘Moving around at night when we were filming could have ended up with pirate boats coming to get me.

‘Apparently they never hurt you, they just want a bit of dollar. They’d get rid of me after 15 minutes,’ he joked.

He added with his trademark cheek: ‘I’d have a lovely life at sea – as long as I got a Jolly Roger at the end of it.’

Despite the risk, Clark expressed excitement about the upcoming 10-episode series, where hopeful singles embark on a quest for love in a tropical paradise, sans clothing.

He teased, ‘It is no secret that I love a reality TV show, but this one is going to blow your minds.

‘Not only does it feature dating and drama — on top of that everyone will be totally starkers.

‘You will not want to miss this — I can’t wait for you all to see.’

Clark assured viewers that the show would deliver both romance and drama, heightened by the unique premise of nudity.
