Russell Brand left a TV show in the UK after he was accused of being a ‘sexual predator’ on air, it has been claimed.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor, 48, has been accused of rape, sexual assault and physical abuse following a bombshell investigation by The Times, as part of a collaborative effort with Dispatches – with an episode on Saturday focusing on the allegations.
The comedian strenuously denied the ‘very, very serious allegations’ in a video shared on his social media account on Friday, ahead of the instalment airing on Channel 4.
It has now been alleged that Katherine Ryan addressed the speculation surrounding his behavior on camera ‘a number of times’ while filming Comedy Central’s Roast Battle, in 2018 – but the footage did not make the final edit.
According to Deadline, she outed the allegations during production, with a source claiming that he was ‘furious’ by the move.
Two other insiders alleged that Brand demanded that producers protect him from being roasted by his colleagues, something that reportedly didn’t go down well behind the scenes.

They claimed that production company Fulwell 73 became uncomfortable with the ‘rumors’ about the Get Him To The Greek star, and moved to drop him from the program.
‘Contract negotiations were made as tricky as possible, is the best way to put it,’ an insider told the outlet. ‘In the end, it came down to the fact that it seemed like Russell didn’t have a good sense of humor. He didn’t feel he was fair game.’
He was eventually replaced by Jonathan Ross for the second season, and barely appeared on TV following this, with a stint on Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off in 2019 being one of his only bookings.
Last June, Ryan made headlines when she revealed that she accused a colleague of being a sexual predator ‘to his face’ while they worked on a popular TV show together – detailing the incident on her Prime Video series, Backstage with Katherine Ryan.
‘I raised it,’ she said, without naming the man in question. ‘I called him a predator to his face and in front of everyone every day.

‘What am I supposed to do? It’s such a messy thing because I don’t have proof.
‘What, am I not supposed to feed my children because of someone else?’
Unpacking the allegations in an interview with Louis Theroux for his Interviews segment last November, Ryan expressed her belief that the alleged attacker is a ‘perpetrator of sexual assault’.
‘It’s not really my story to tell,’ she told the presenter. ‘No one has perpetrated any sexual assault against me, but this person, I believe …read more
