Nicole Kidman appears to have been drinking from the fountain of youth as she stunned at the LA premiere of her new Netflix thriller The Perfect Couple.

The 57-year-old Babygirl actor did not look a day older than her co-stars who are nearly half her age, Eve Hewson, 33, and Meghann Fahy, 34, as she posed next to them on the red carpet.

Wearing a deep V-neck dark brown shimmering dress, the Practical Magic star, also cuddled up to her on-screen husband Liev Schreiber, 56, who looked dapper in a black suit and white shirt.

In The Perfect Couple, Nicole Kidman plays rich novelist Greer Garrison Winbury whose son Benji Winbury’s (Billy Howle) high society wedding to Amelia Sacks (Hewson) is derailed when a dead body washes up on shore.

Liev plays her husband Tag Winbury, while making up the rest of the Winbury family, are Benji’s older brother Thomas (Jack Reynor), and his pregnant wife Abby (Dakota Fanning), younger brother Will (Sam Nivola), and family friend Isabel Nallet (Isabelle Adjani)

Joining them at the Nantucket wedding are maid of honour Merritt Monaco (Meghann Fahy), and best man Shooter Dival (Ishaan Khattar).

The show’s director Susanne Bier, responsible for series including The Night Manager, The Undoing, spoke to Metro.co.uk about an ‘uncomfortable’ sex scene between Nicole and Liev’s characters.

They engage in a rather tense sexual encounter that begins after Greer repeatedly tells her husband not to touch her. She then succumbs and they have sex fully clothed against a window.

She said: ‘It’s sort of a little bit of an uncomfortable sex scene in there. It doesn’t feel entirely mutual in a way.

‘It was a way of describing the emotional thing that was going on between the two of them, as opposed to just describing the physical.

‘But also, it was very conscious. We understand exactly what’s going on, but we are still keeping certain things literally on the ropes,’ she said describing the character’s position with her back to her husband and her body pressed against a window.’

Nicole previously compared the experience of filming The Perfect Couple to ‘theatre’ in an interview with PA.

She said: ‘The director Sussane [Bier] was like “This is something you haven’t done and I want you to go and have fun with it”. So I did and it was just a great group of actors.
