A major bridge in Bristol is currently closed ‘all day’ to traffic and pedestrians due to a police incident.

Clifton Suspension Bridge has been closed since 6.30am this morning as officers respond to the emergency incident.

It is closed between Observatory Road and North Road on the opposite side of the bridge.

Traffic monitor Inrix said: ‘Due to a police incident, the bridge and visitor centre are closed all day today (July 11) to all traffic and pedestrians. We apologise for the disruption.’

Avon and Somerset Police has been contacted for comment.
