Kai Havertz insists winning the Champions League with Arsenal would mean more than the success he enjoyed in the competition earlier in his career with Chelsea.
The Germany international scored the winning goal in the final three years ago when a Blues side managed by Thomas Tuchel caused an upset against Manchester City.
Despite that historic moment, Havertz largely flattered to deceive during his Stamford Bridge career but appears to have found the perfect environment in north London where he has become a firm favourite of Mikel Arteta’s.
Havertz, now considered Arsenal’s first choice centre forward, has scored in all four home games so far this season and will hope to add to that tally tonight against Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal kicked off their European campaign by gaining a creditable point against Atalanta a fortnight ago but will be hoping for a maximum haul this evening in an effort to stay within touching distance of the top eight and automatic qualification.
‘It was a good moment for me in my career and something that I’m always going to think about,’ said Havertz when asked about his history in the competition and hopes of prospering with Arsenal.
‘It’s a nice feeling but it would be even nicer if I can do it with Arsenal and it would mean a lot more.
