Juventus have approached Bologna manager Thiago Motta as they look for a replacement for outgoing boss Massimiliano Allegri.

Allegri is set to end his second stint in charge of the Turin club after a disappointing Serie A campaign, which sees them sitting fourth in the table with two games to play.

The Italian has won the Coppa Italia in his last season in charge, his fifth at the club, with five Serie A titles won with the Old Lady as well.

His time is over, though, and Juventus are keen to appoint Thiago Motta after an impressive spell in charge of Bologna.

The Brazilian-born Italy international took charge of Bologna in September 2022 and has enjoyed his best season so far over the current campaign, with his side currently above Juventus in Serie A, third in the table.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Juventus have offered the 41-year-old a three-year contract and Motta is set to inform them of his decision on his future shortly.

After securing Champions League football for next season, Bologna CEO Claudio Fenucci admitted his manager’s future is out of his hands,

‘Only Thiago knows what he will do next and soon we will all know,’ Fenucci told Sky Sport Italia. ‘In his last interview, he said that when there is something new to say, he will tell everyone, so I stick to that.

‘We will talk over the next few days, he knows that we would like to continue with him for all he has given the team, not just in terms of their performances. It would be marvelous to continue together, now we need to talk to him.

‘When we hired Thiago, he represented something new, a different model of football and of football culture. He played in big clubs, he was able to assimilate those concepts on how to deal with teams.’
