Jennifer Lopez has gone dark on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter, replacing her profile image with a plain black tile – and we have questions.

The usually vibrant circles that greet users when they land on her profiles were switched to the colour black in a mysterious statement move that no one quite knows the answer to.

Rumour mills spinning, it has been since speculated the black-out is a hint at a new project from the actress, producer and award-winning artist but J-Lo herself has stayed quiet on the matter.

Along with the new profile picture, the star wiped her Instagram account clean, leaving no trace of her previous posts.

However, on Twitter, Facebook and TikTok, users could still access the singer’s content from before the strange hiatus.

According to Deadline, the decision to blackout her social media was in anticipation of a new project announcement but her reps have yet to confirm this as true.

The Hustlers star has left her collective 347million followers – most of which come from her now erased Instagram – baffled as they try and work out what the celebrity is up to behind closed doors.

On Facebook a worried follower posted: ‘What’s happened? Hope you and your wonderful family are ok.

‘I’ll pray for your health and safety.’

The megastar and her production company Nuyorican Productions which she runs with partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, signed a multi-year first-look deal with Netflix in June 2021.

Spanning across TV series, feature films and unscripted pieces, the deal aimed to focus on projects that included diverse female actors, writers and filmmakers.

The mysterious move came after the performer took to TikTok to post a sweet video with her actor husband Ben Affleck.

Following a popular trend on the app, J-Lo sat on Ben’s knee and smiled ear to ear as a sweet audio played underneath the loved up video of the pair.

Set to the adorable trending clip, fans could hear the words: ‘Guys, I did it. I found the person that makes me the happiest I have ever been,’ in a cute baby voice as J Lo and Ben got cosy.

The famous couple tied the knot in July after rekindling their relationship 20 years later.
