Manchester United winger Antony is ‘disappointed but okay’ after being placed on a mutually agreed leave of absence following accusations of domestic abuse.
The 23-year-old’s former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, has alleged that she was physically attacked by Antony on multiple occasions during their time together in Manchester and in their native Brazil.
Two more women, Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana, have also made accusations of abuse against the Brazil international.
Antony has denied all the allegations made against him and has vowed to clear his name. Greater Manchester Police are investigating.
Having also been dropped from the Brazil squad during the recent international break, United last week confirmed the former Ajax star will ‘delay his return until further notice in order to address the allegations.’
Speaking for the first time since the mutual decision between the club and player was announced, ten Hag was asked when he expected Antony to return, telling reporters: ‘No idea.’
Asked if had spoken with the winger, who he also worked with during their time together at Ajax, he added: “Of course he is disappointed, but he is okay.’

Following United’s comments last week, Antony made his own statement on his Instagram account.
Antony posted his own statement on Instagram, which read: ‘I have agreed with Manchester United to take a period of absence while I address the allegations made against me.
‘This was a mutual decision to avoid distraction to my teammates and unnecessary controversy for the club.
‘I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them reach the truth. I look forward to returning to play as soon as possible.’
Antony’s absence coincides with Jadon Sancho being exiled from the first-team as the result of a disciplinary issue.
The winger has refused to apologise to ten Hag after slamming his manager’s comments made after the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal. Ten Hag revealed post-match Sancho had not been included in his squad due to a perceived lack of effort in training with Sancho labelling his remarks ‘completely untrue’.
