Iâve been an out lesbian for 30 years.
All representation is important.
When I came out it was hardly there.
The fact weâre getting more is a beautiful thing.
Our stories are all different. Thereâs not just one story.
So letâs tell stories.

EastEnders legend Heather Peace has reacted to the news that DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and factory boss Carla Connor (Alison King) are set to have a romance in Coronation Street, with a post on X/Twitter supporting the storyline.
Carla and Lisa’s friendship has blossomed in recent weeks, with Carla supporting Lisa through her grief over losing her wife Becky. Carla has also been supportive to Lisa’s sometimes difficult daughter, Betsy (Sydney Martin).
In return, Lisa is set to support Carla after she comes face to face with Tom, the father of the lad she knocked over previously as she has her day in court.
Carla is angrily confronted by Tom, and she tries to stand her ground but is ‘really shaken,’ according to Alison King. Then Lisa appears and steps in to take control of the situation.
As Lisa comes to check on Carla in the aftermath of this, Alison explained that Carla’s feelings for her friend are beginning to change.

‘Now Lisa is there for her, she’s leaning on Lisa for the first time and it’s becoming quite a confusing friendship. Lisa keeps appearing, she’s always there because of that link through Betsy, and there’s a bond growing between them that Carla can’t quite define.’
A charged moment between them makes Carla wonder what her real feelings are, and whether Lisa feels the same.
Ever since Vicky Myers joined the show and revealed that Lisa is gay, a lot of fans have been hoping for a romance between her and Carla.
And Heather Peace, who plays one half of the iconic Eve Unwin and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) pairing on EastEnders, is here for it, taking to X to post her views and tagging both EastEnders and Coronation Street:
‘I’ve been an out lesbian for 30 years. All representation is important. When I came out it was hardly there. The fact we’re getting more is a beautiful thing. Our stories are all different. There’s not just one story. So let’s tell stories. xxx’.
