As Christmas approaches, you can always guarantee a community-based storyline in EastEnders, as the residents of Walford get in the festive spirit.

Well, in addition to the usual nativity plays and community choirs, fans are being gifted an extra cheeky present this year.

The men of Albert Square will be getting their kit off as Mo Harris (Laila Morse) whips them into shape for a festive charity calendar.

Mo comes up with the money-making scheme as a way to help the market traders, whose livelihoods are under threat by plans to redevelop Bridge Street and the Square Gardens.

She enlists the help of local social influencer Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) to do the PR for the calendar, while she also gets new club owner Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) to agree to sponsor.

In scenes to air next month, Mo and Kim are on hand as the lads get camera-ready for the photoshoot.

It’s a week of festivities in the Square, as Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) is busy gearing up for the Beale’s Eels Santa float.

He’s excited when he presents his family with their costumes for the event, but Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) winds up missing it when she gets a better offer from lover Junior Knight (Micah Balfour).

Elsewhere, Kim resorts to bribery to pull a choir together for the Christmas Eve concert.

EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 9 December at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
