Danny Cipriani’s estranged wife Victoria has claimed he publicly announced their split ‘without prior notice’.
Mental health campaigner Victoria, 42, added that 36-year-old Danny’s move has left her in ‘a great deal of pain’.
Danny announced his split from Victoria earlier this month following two years of marriage.
The pair wed in April 2021 in an intimate ceremony after dating for just 11 months.
Taking to Instagram, Danny wrote: ‘Victoria and I sat together this weekend and agreed to separate after 4 years of marriage.’
He notably appeared to get the length of their marriage wrong.

He added: ‘Whilst we’ve had some wonderful times together, we’ve also recognised we’re on different journeys and whilst this is sad news, it’s also a new chapter for us both to pursue our own happiness. I only wish the best for Victoria and her children.’
However, Victoria has now said in a social media post that she was ‘made aware of the situation at the same time as the public’.
The post has since been deleted but according to MailOnline, she said in full: ‘Danny publicly announced our split without any prior notice or discussion with me. I was made aware of the situation at the same time as the public, and this has caused me a great deal of pain.
‘I apologise if my reactions and responses have seemed reactive or emotionally charged.’

Victoria added: ‘The truth is, I am still going through a difficult time, and it is challenging for me to see Danny speaking about our separation publicly while I have not yet found the strength to process it, adjust or heal.
‘I really don’t want to be caught up in the fanfare. Sorry for any hurt I have caused.’
When Danny first revealed their split, a source close to the couple told the outlet that they parted two weeks before the announcement following some ‘difficult rows’ over texts found on the sportsman’s mobile phone.
‘Victoria had been increasingly unhappy over the last few months,’ the insider said.
They continued to MailOnline: ‘Things got tense and then she saw some text messages on his phone and it led to some difficult rows between them and they have now split up.’

The source also claimed Danny had moved out of the couple’s Kent home but had been visiting since their split.
