Amy was questioned by police (Picture: ITV)
Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) took drastic action against a sex criminal in last week’s Coronation Street, when she turned the tables on a man called Dan when she saw him spiking a woman’s drink.
After warning the woman off and ensuring her safety, Amy began flirting with Dan. Each time he brought her a drink she ensured that it was him who drank it – and eventually he was totally under the influence of the drug.
Amy called Aadi (Adam Hussain) and together they drove Dan off. Amy’s plan was to leave him tied up somewhere, but Aadi persuaded her that they really needed to get him to hospital.
In the wake of this, Monday (November 20)’s episode saw Amy and Aadi getting a visit from DS Swain (Vicky Myers) – who took them both to the station to answer questions after Dan told the police that Amy drugged him.
DS Swain is well aware of Amy’s traumatic history and that she was raped by Aaron Sandford (James Craven), someone she previously thought of as a good friend. But while she was sympathetic with Amy’s possible reasons for her actions, she was determined to get to the bottom of whether Amy had really set out to drug Dan out of revenge.

Aadi tried to stick to the story that he and Amy had agreed, but under questioning both of them were soon floundering. Amy had asked for Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) to be present in her interview for legal advice and it looked like a good move as she was told she could face up to five years in prison.
Eventually DS Swain told Amy she was free to go and off the record told her that Dan had been identified by other sexual assault victims and was now a person of interest to the police.
Back at home Aadi was still covering for Amy when Tracy (Kate Ford) demanded to know what had gone on. He’s being a good friend to Amy and it seems that both of them want the friendship to be more than that.
Amy panicked and pushed Aadi away (Picture: ITV)
But when they leaned in for a kiss, Amy immediately suffered flashbacks to the rape and pulled back, distressed. Steve (Simon Gregson) and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) rushed in, concerned that Aadi had done something to upset her.
Later, Amy told Nina (Mollie Gallagher) about the kiss and admitted she’d been wanting to kiss Aadi for ages.
‘Why couldn’t I enjoy it like a normal person?’ she wondered.
