There’s been a change of schedules (Picture: ITV)
There’s a bit of movement in this week’s ITV soap schedules, as Coronation Street has been shifted from its usual 8pm slot on Friday September 22 to make way for football. ITV1 will air the match between England and Scotland in the UEFA Women’s Nations League from 7.30pm on Friday.
But fear not, you won’t miss any Corrie action at all, as there’s going to be an extra visit to Weatherfield on Tuesday September 19. So with Monday’s and Wednesday’s hour-long episodes airing as normal, that means we’ll get the full week’s episodes, just a little earlier.
This will come as good news to fans who are currently gripped by events in the famous Street.
It’s Paul (Peter Ash) and Billy (Daniel Brocklebank)’s stag do and Billy is a bit taken aback by all the glitter and rainbows – but Paul loves it.
Sadly the happiness doesn’t last long for Paul as Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) gets a visit from the police about the scam she’s been running selling off laptops bought by Shelly (Natalie Amber). But there’s worse news for Paul when he hears that Shelly has died – and he comes to a huge decision about his own future.
Aadi (Adam Hussain) is also thinking about the future now that his relationship with Courtney (Stephanie Davis) is no longer a secret. What does a future with Courtney actually look like? Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) is thinking about the practical realities and asks his son to get his girlfriend to at least contribute to the household bills now she’s living under his roof – but she’s oddly evasive. What’s going on?
Ryan (Ryan Prescott) finds himself getting in too deep with the online videos, when a subscriber asks for a live video and offers to pay extra. His online activities soon come to the attention of Peter (Chris Gascoyne) and Carla (Alison King) – and Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) decides she has to confront Ryan about what’s going on.

And this week could mark the beginning of the end for Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce), as he hears that a body has been found on Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) and Ronnie (Vinta Morgan)’s building site.
When he hears from Ed that it was definitely a man’s body his heart sinks – and his worst fears are confirmed when Craig calls at the Rovers to tell Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) that the body is that of Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) – her former boyfriend and Stephen’s first victim.
Stephen is set to leave in a hugely dramatic storyline in October during Super Soap Week, and Todd Boyce’s co-stars have already held a goodbye party for him.
