Singer Tones and I revealed she suffered a miscarriage just days before she was due to perform in a huge show, ‘the biggest of her career’.
The Australian singer rose to fame in 2019 with her hit song Dance Monkey which holds the record for most streamed song in history by a female artist.
Tones, real name Toni Watson, keeps her life fairly private and secretly married her ‘best friend’, Jimmy Bedford last year in Bali.
This meant her heartbreaking post came as a shock to fans as she detailed how she was on stage when she suddenly ‘felt blood running down’ her legs.
On Instagram she wrote: ‘The day before the biggest show of my career so far, I was in rehearsals with 30 choir, 30 dancers and 50 crew, our final dress rehearsals after years of dreaming and months of organising.
‘I was at the point of the show where I just hit the big note in “to be loved” the first song off my latest album, as I hit the big note I felt blood running down my legs, usually an awkward but manageable situation especially since this was a rehearsal and not a show, except.’

Tones was nine weeks pregnant at the time and said she ‘wasn’t planning on telling people’ and instead was planning to wear baggy clothes to disguise her baby bump.
She left rehearsals with her husband and arrived at the hospital by 8.30pm, which is when the pain ‘started to kick in’.
‘After not sleeping that night I was told I was having a miscarriage,’ the Fly Away singer continued.
Doctors confirmed that there was no chance the huge show could go ahead, forcing her to reschedule.
Tones admitted her mind immediately went to her team and her fans, despite everything, as she felt she couldn’t ‘let everyone down’.

She shared: ‘I promised that I would be back and I left, I arrive at Rod Laver [arena] just in time for my meet and greets and the end of sound check and the show.
‘Off stage felt like a blur but as soon as I stepped on stage, I felt carried, it was unlike any show I have ever performed, I was lifted by my family on and off stage who knew nothing, I told three people that night and let the energy of everyone else carry me through this moment whilst also not wanting to let this show pass me by.
‘I wanted it to be a night I would never forget. I have to say thank you to my team and my family for lifting me through what was truly one of my biggest triumphs and my saddest moments.’
After the show, Tones returned to the hospital and the next morning she underwent surgery.
