Bruce Campbell went full Ash Williams on an audience member during the premiere of Evil Dead Rise at South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival.
The latest film in the hit horror franchise is set to be released in the UK on April 21, and premiered in the US this week as part of SXSW Festival.
But in typical Evil Dead style, the event descended into chaos when a moviegoer decided to heckle the film’s all-star Q&A panel.
Following a screening, writer and director Lee Cronin, producer Rob Tapert, and actors Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland were joined by original Evil Dead writer and director Sam Raimi, as well as Ash star Campbell, for interviews.
During the session, SXSW staff approached an audience member after he fell asleep with his legs propped up.
He proceeded to shout something in response, which led to the room falling silent, as reported by Deadline.

When prompted to ask what he had said, he told the panel ‘this movie f***ing sucks’ while throwing a popcorn bucket in the air.
The heckler stormed out of the theatre to a chorus of boos from the audience, but not before Campbell, who also acts as a producer on Evil Dead Rise, gave him a piece of his mind.
‘What are you doing here? Get the f**k out of here!’, he said, to cheers from fans.
Tapert added: ‘I don’t get it. He waited all the way through the credits!’
SXSW Film and TV programmer Peter Hall, who was moderating the panel, heaped praise on the film following the ruckus.
‘That a**hole aside, I think we can all agree that this movie actually really f***ing rules,’ he said before the panel continued.

Evil Dead Rise is the fifth film in the popular horror franchise and follows the story of Beth and Ellie, two estranged sisters who must fight to save their family from demonic creatures.
Campbell recently revealed he would consider the possibility of returning to the world of Evil Dead in the future – on one condition.
‘If Sam says, “I, Sam Raimi, will direct another Evil Dead movie,” then I, Bruce Campbell, will consider being in it. I don’t want to be Ash, tended to by other people,’ the actor told Fangoria.
