Britney Spears has shared a surprise declaration of love for her family.

The 42-year-old popstar has spoken about having a difficult relationship with family since the termination of a conservatorship that gave her father Jamie control over her multi-million dollar fortune and other aspects of her life.

The 13-year conservatorship ended in 2021, and she recently settled a legal battle with her father over the possible mishandling. Afterwards, she sent a stern message to her family saying they ‘hurt’ her.

She’s once again taken to Instagram to discuss the complicated relationship.

‘We all have issues with our family but dear God you can’t help how much you love them,’ the caption began.

‘I’m not in this picture but I sure as hell feel like I am.’

In the image, Britney’s mother Lynne, 69, her sister Jamie Lynn, 33, her nieces Maddie, 15, and five-year-old Ivey were pictured around a picnic table with Holly Watson, who is Jamie Lynn’s mother-in-law.

‘On a side note … If you know me, I’ve always ended up at this kids table at every function I’ve ever been to !!! The most elite expensive dinners and I always find myself just like this sitting in the back with the kids,’ Britney continued.

The hitmaker – who lives in Los Angeles whilst her family is still based in rural Kentwood, Louisiana – explained that she was sharing the image of her clan even though she herself was missing from it because she still thinks of her family as ‘absolutely beautiful’ and ‘misses them’ even in a ‘world of chaos and confusion’.

She added: ‘Anyways … I’m posting this pic because my family is absolutely beautiful and I miss them. So not to sound righteous but in a world of chaos and confusion the trickery of the devil is to mislead you and humiliate you  … and make you think you’re less than !!!’

In the post, she also shared an image of a book cover – Yasmin Mogahed’s Reclaim Your Heart: Personal insights on breaking free from life’s shackles.

Jamie, 71, and her brother Bryan, 47, were not pictured in the photo.

The settlement with Jamie will see Britney pay her father’s legal fees, estimated to be $2million (£1.5million) as well as her own, while she receives nothing.

In a now-deleted caption, Britney wrote: ‘My family hurt me !!! There has been no justice and probably never will be !!! The people who sat and did absolutely nothing when they did that for four months are smooth sailing.

‘The way I was brought up I was always taught the formative of right and wrong but the very two people who brought me up with that method hurt me !!! I am so lucky to be here!!!’

Britney admitted that she had never told them this ‘face to face’, and that she probably never will as it …read more
