WWE superstar Tyler Bate has confirmed he will be out for action ‘for some time’ after suffering a pair of nasty injuries.

The 27-year-old wrestler, who is part of New Catch Republic with fellow Englishman Pete Dunne, was badly hurt during the duo’s match on last week’s episode of NXT.

As a result, Bate is on the shelf and starting the long road to recovery after already undergoing surgery in the week since the accident.

He took to Instagram on Tuesday and shared photos of himself in a hospital bed alongside a mirror selfie in the bathroom with his left arm in a sling.

Bate captioned the post: ‘Tore my left pectoral major & tendon off the bone last week at NXT. Surgery yesterday was successful and all has been put back where it belongs.

I’ll be gone for some time while I recover, try not to miss me too much.’

Bate’s fellow wrestlers have flooded the post with messages of support, including current Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, who replied with a series of praying hand emojis.

NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan also shared praying hand emojis, while former NXT wrestler Camron Branae commented: ‘Oh my god pal!!! Best wishes!! Love you friend! Feel better!!

‘There is no obstacle too great for you traveller, in this dimension or any other,’ said Blackpool star Sam Gradwell, who wrestled with Bate on the independent scene and as part of the NXT UK roster.

‘Wishing you a speedy recovery, bu,’ commented WWE referee Eddie Orengo, while veteran star Natalya added: ‘Get well soon!!!’

It’s been a rollercoaster year for Tyler, who was finally called up to the main roster on SmackDown back in January as he had his proper debut match teaming with Pete Dunne against fellow Brits Pretty Deadly.
