Ajax identify their replacement for Manchester United transfer target Antony

Ajax are considering a move for Nice winger Calvin Stengs as a replacement for Manchester United target Antony this summer.

Erik ten Hag this week lifted the Eredivisie title with the Amsterdam giants ahead of his move to Old Trafford, with the Dutchman set to oversee major changes at the club this summer.

United have been credited with keen interest in a number of Ajax players with Brazilian winger Antony among those tipped to follow ten Hag to Manchester, alongside defender Jurrien Timber.

And according to Voetbal Primeur, Ajax have now identified a replacement for the 22-year-old in Stengs should he move on.

Netherlands international Stengs left Dutch football last summer, leaving AZ Alkmaar to join Nice in a deal worth £13million.

The 23-year-old has endured a slow start to life in Ligue 1 however having started just 11 league matches with just one goal to his name.

Antony meanwhile has also been linked with moves to Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain off the back of another superb season with Ajax.

The winger was pictured on board a flight to Paris alongside his agent on Thursday, prompting transfer speculation amid those links to a move to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Reports suggest however the trip to France was to record a commercial with a sponsor, rather than for transfer talks.
