Scheduling issues hobble
Contra Costa’s testing
We’ve been told that widespread testing is the key to reopening our economy. Contra Costa County has done a laudable job in ramping up testing capability for residents, but their telephone scheduling system has long on-hold wait times and has created a significant bottleneck that will likely deter people from getting tested.
Yesterday morning I called and after waiting on hold for a significant period was given an option to enter my phone number for a call back. That call back never came.

So, I am calling again today and decided to just wait this time. I’m now more than 45 minutes into waiting on hold. This is going to discourage people from getting tested and could be solved with options such as online scheduling for all test sites.
