“Art is our love language,” Zoë Kravitz said in August about her three-year romance with Channing Tatum.

Kravitz was speaking at the premiere of “Blink Twice,” the movie that brought her and the “Magic Mike” star together as collaborators and as a couple. Tatum starred in the psychological thriller, while the “Batman” and “Big Little Lies” actor made her debut as a director.

But fewer than three months after the film’s debut, the romance reportedly is over. On Tuesday, People magazine first reported the news that stunned many fans: Kravitz and Tatum were “calling it quits as a couple,” with multiple sources telling People that the two had called off their engagement.

The news seemed to be even more surprising, given that Tatum, 44, was on Instagram earlier Tuesday, sharing the news that he and Kravitz, 35, would be working together again, joining the star-studded cast of the alien invasion movie, “Alpha Gang.”

Working together is something Kravitz had promised more of at the Aug. 8 “Blink Twice” premiere, saying,  “I think it’s what we love, and we love talking about it, and experiencing it, and supporting each other.”

As multiple outlets have reported, Kravitz and Tatum first became an item in 2021, apparently meeting during the casting process for “Blink Twice.” Rumors of a romance began as early as January 2021, around the time that Kravitz announced she was divorcing Karl Glusman, her husband of 18 months. By June 2021, it was announced that Kravitz would direct “Blink Twice,” while Tatum would star in the film, playing a mysterious billionaire who invites a group of women to party on his private island. In August 2021, dating rumors exploded after they were photographed, hanging out in New York City’s East Village.

For the next couple years, Kravitz and Tatum mostly kept their relationship private, including when filming for “Blink Twice” got underway in Mexico in early 2022. They became engaged in 2023.

But during this time, Tatum was still locked in a contentious divorce battle with his ex-wife Jenna Dewan, from whom he split back in 2018. Tatum and Dewan finally settled their divorce in September.

Kravitz and Tatum, meanwhile, began to talk more openly about their relationship as they geared up to promote “Blink Twice” in July and August. Their interactions in dual interviews garnered “a ton of commentary about what a sweet and seemingly well-matched couple they were,” BuzzFeed News reported.

Their interviews mostly focused on the joys they said they found in working together and on making art — their “love language,” as Kravitz said.

Tatum told Entertainment Tonight that their relationship “started inside the film; we were just friends that were creating something in the beginning.” Kravitz concurred, telling Entertainment Tonight: “It’s been a really intense journey and to have a partner that supports you like that, I …read more
