SAN LEANDRO — Two families were displaced Monday night after a two-alarm fire swept through a home, fire officials said.

The fire about 7:25 p.m. in the 900 block of Williams Street did not injure anyone, according to a statement from Alameda County Fire spokesperson Cheryl Hurd.

When firefighters arrived, one home was engulfed in flames, Hurd said. Other homes in the area were threatened, thus necessitating the second alarm.

Hurd said fire officials deemed the fire suspicious but still had not determined how it began.

Red Cross worked with the affected families to find them temporary housing.
