TV tonight: On ‘The Gong Show,’ a death-defying family circus

“The Gong Show” (8 p.m., ABC): Tonight, our host Tommy Maitland (Mike Myers) welcomes celebrity judges Jimmy Kimmel, Will Arnett and Anthony Anderson to the irreverent talent show competition. Tonight’s offbeat acts include an operatic construction worker, a man balancing a flaming grill on his chin, a death-defying family circus, and a mother/son hip-hop team.

“Little Big Shots” (8 p.m., NBC): This week’s showcase of talented kids features identical twin singers from Spain, a charming 7-year old movie whiz, a dazzling clogging troupe, and a pair of sibling singer-songwriters, and a 4-year old viral cotton-candy expert. Also appearing will be an exceptional contemporary dance duo and an enchanting performance by brother and sister magicians.

“Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” (8 p.m., Freeform): As Season 1 continues, a mysterious man might be the key for Tandy to finally clear her father’s name. Unfortunately, getting answers won’t be easy because the man has been in a catatonic state for almost a decade.

“Hot Wheels: 50th Anniversary Special” (8 p.m., History Channel): So are we dating ourselves if we say our favorite car was once the Jackrabbit Special? This new documentary tracks the development and popularity of those tiny, die-cast toy cars.

“Queen of the South” (9 p.m., USA): Teresa flees Europe and starts fresh in Phoenix, Arizona, where she must deal with a commission of cartel bosses and a corrupt local sheriff.

“Marlon” (9 p.m., NBC): In the first of back-to-back episodes, Marlon believes that non-traditional careers are being under-represented at Zack’s school career day. To vent his frustrations, Marlon decides to speak to Zack and his classmates. He warns them to never be put in a box and to pursue alternative career paths. This backfires and Marlon has to reinforce that school is important, but they should never be told what they can or can’t do.

“Shooter” (10 p.m., USA): Armed with new information about his father’s involvement in the Vietnam War, Bob Lee hunts for the real men responsible for Earl’s murder. Sensing her husband’s growing obsession, Julie follows a lead of her own. When Harris gets grabbed, Bob Lee joins Nadine and Isaac on a dangerous rescue mission.
