Palo Alto: Masseur arrested on suspicion of sexual assault

PALO ALTO – A masseur has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a client during a massage appointment at a Palo Alto chiropractic office, authorities said.

The assault was reported at the Spine and Therapy Center at 2504 Ash St. just before 8 p.m. on Oct. 7, the Palo Alto Police Department said in a news release Monday.

Police said the client was not physically injured.

The masseur, a 27-year-old San Mateo resident, was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose on a charge of sexual penetration, police said.

Police said they are not aware of any additional victims. Administrators at the business are “working collaboratively with detectives,” and the masseur has been fired.
