Maddie Brush and her husband, Caleb Brush, are expecting their fourth child. She made the big announcement several weeks back on Instagram, and now she’s sharing even more information about her upcoming arrival with Sister Wives fans on her podcast. Maddie recently revealed that baby #4 will be another baby girl. While she and her husband are thrilled about the new addition, one family member is slightly disappointed by the baby’s gender.
Maddie Brush says her son was upset by baby #4’s gender reveal
In a recent episode of her podcast, The Authentic Society, Maddie revealed that she and her husband are happy about adding a third girl to their family. One family member was less thrilled about the prospect, though. Maddie told her cohost, Jayme Byrd, that her son, Axel, was incredibly disappointed to learn he would be welcoming home a third sister instead of a baby brother.

Maddie said Axel, who is just 7, was “sobbing” over the big news. Surely, he’ll come around to the idea of another sister running around. Maddie and Caleb’s other two daughters had varying responses. The reality TV personality said her eldest daughter, Evie, 5, is thrilled about having another sister. The couple’s youngest daughter, Joey, is still too young to understand what is happening. She was born in February 2023 and will be just two when her little sister is born.

Maddie has been open and chatty about her current pregnancy. Still, there is one person she probably didn’t set aside time to tell separately. Maddie has an icy relationship with her father, Kody Brown, and his fourth wife, Robyn Brown.

While Maddie is currently pregnant with her fourth baby, season 19 of Sister Wives covers the period of time that she was pregnant with her third child. Kody has been outspoken about feeling upset that Maddie didn’t announce her third pregnancy to him. Janelle Brown later disclosed the reason behind the decision. She said Maddie didn’t feel the need to tell Kody because he’s never tried to connect with her kids. Kody insists he’s being “punished” by his adult children for “not loving” their mothers.
While it has been some time since the season was filmed, Kody has not appeared to make an effort to reconnect with his adult children. It seems unlikely that the ice between Kody and Maddie has thawed. Janelle has since moved from Arizona to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.
