Tim Allen is denying a claim Pamela Anderson makes in her new memoir — that he flashed her when she was 23 years old and they first met on the set of the 1990s family sitcom “Home Improvement.”

In a statement provided to USA Today from Allen’s representative, the actor said, “No, it never happened. I would never do such a thing.”

Anderson offers a different account of a disturbing encounter with Allen in 1991 in her memoir, “Love Pamela,” according to Variety, which obtained a copy of the book. In opening up about her early experiences in the entertainment industry, Anderson writes about being a young 23-year-old actress, booking the role of Lisa the Tool Time Girl on “Home Improvement,” which also starred Allen and Patrician Richardson.

“On the first day of filming, I walked out of my dressing room, and Tim was in the hallway in his robe,” Anderson wrote, according to Variety. “He opened his robe and flashed me quickly — completely naked underneath. He said it was only fair, because he had seen me naked. Now we’re even. I laughed uncomfortably.”

Allen, who was 37 at the time of this alleged incident, was presumably referring to Anderson’s modeling for Playboy, which helped Anderson attract attention in Hollywood.

“Home Improvement” marked one of Anderson’s earliest credits, Variety said. She appeared in 23 episodes in the first two seasons of the show as it quickly became the No. 1 TV series in the United States. She left to focus on “Baywatch,” which became a global phenomenon and made Anderson one of the most recognizable women in the world.

Variety said that this encounter with Allen is one of the many explosive claims made in “Love, Pamela.” The book also is one of the most anticipated titles of the year from HarperCollins, Variety said. In the book and in a New York Times interview, Anderson also addresses last year’s hit Hulu series “Pam and Tommy,” which delves into her volatile marriage to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and the infamous sex tape of them that was stolen from their home.

Anderson told the New York Times that she refused to watch the show or cooperate with Hulu’s production. When Lily James reached out to Anderson to discuss playing her in the series — claiming she wanted to “honor” her — Anderson said she snubbed her.

For Anderson, “Pam & Tommy” felt like just another exploitation — “except this time it came wrapped in the paper-thin promise of some sort of salvation,” the …read more
