The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on State Route 4 near Mc Ewen Road, CHP Officer Adam Lane said.
An investigation revealed a gray Dodge Charger was traveling westbound when the driver lost control and the car overturned, Lane said, adding that the driver was ejected.
“During the on scene investigation, it was determined the driver was not wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash,” Lane said.
The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Lane said.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash or the events leading up to it can contact the CHP Contra Costa area office at 925-646-4980.
