Canadian woman arrested in $70,000 Taylor Swift ticket scam

Police in Toronto have arrested a woman for scamming dozens of Taylor Swift fans out of $70,000 for Eras Tour tickets they never received.

The seller — using the alias “Denise Blackhawk” on Facebook Marketplace — allegedly duped at least 28 Swifties into paying hundreds or thousands of dollars to catch one of Swift’s Toronto shows, according to the CBC.

“When victims requested their money back, the accused alleged that the money was gone,” police said Tuesday, noting some of the fake tickets were sold as far back as 2023, when real tickets first went on sale.
