California man arrested after being accused of fatally stabbing two dogs

A 45-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing dogs that apparently had attacked him in the backyard of a home in Sun Valley, authorities said.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the 9200 block of Cayuga Avenue in Sun Valley at around 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday to respond to a call for a possible home invasion robbery.

When officers arrived, they found 45-year-old Sun Valley resident Alexandro Flores, armed with a knife. Two dead dogs were found in the backyard.

Witnesses say Flores had been attacked by dogs on the property, then stabbed them. Officers say Flores was a relative of the homeowners and that he resided at that location. He was arrested on suspicion of felony animal cruelty. His bail has been set at $60,000.
