Big Brother is a tough game, and you often don’t learn from it until after you make a mistake. Claire Rehfuss talks about the one regret about how she played in season 23.

Claire started out working closely with Tiffany. But she had no clue Tiffany was part of The Cookout alliance, which had the goal of being the final six.

Tiffany was in a tough spot when she won Head of Household (HOH) and decided to put Xavier Prather and Alyssa Lopez on the block. That’s because Alyssa won the veto, and the only non-Cookout member left was Claire.

Tiffany told Claire she’s putting her on the block because she doesn’t want to put another Black houseguest on the block. Claire was devastated, but she said she understood, given the history of Big Brother.

Claire was very close to Tiffany throughout the season. Now that she’s going to jury, she sees some issues with her strategy.

“Perhaps when I was safe, I should have been building more alliances or relationships,” Claire told Parade. “But the two people who put me up were people I felt pretty good with!”

She later said, “And maybe when I was safe, I should have been more aggressive at winning competitions to position myself better. I think that’s a regret that I have. But if people are going to use you as a pawn, people are going to use you as a pawn. And they were two people I had relationships with. So it’s hard for me to regret it right now.“

Claire left the house, but she made sure to speak her mind in her eviction speech. She did that by saying Xavier has her vote as long as he’s in the house.

“Houseguests, I find myself almost at a loss for words because I’m sitting next to the fabulous X, and he is loyal, and he is trustworthy,” Claire said in her eviction speech. “In three weeks, he’s gonna be $750,000 richer because for me to go and him to stay, he must be playing a damn fine game. And for that to happen, I have to tip my hat to him, and I’m gonna be going to jury potentially, and I’ll make sure all the jury …read more
