
OAKLAND — A 42-year-old bicyclist suffered fatal injuries Thursday night when he was struck near City Hall by a vehicle that kept going, authorities said.
The man’s name has not yet been released. Police said he was an Oakland resident.
The collision happened about 8:21 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of 14th and Jefferson streets.
Police said the bicyclist was riding westbound on 14th Street when he was struck by a vehicle that was driving in the same direction.
The bicyclist was taken to a hospital where he later died, police said.
The vehicle that struck him did not remain at the scene, police said. A detailed description of the vehicle and its driver have not yet been released.
