With 49.3% of the vote, San Leandro basketball’s Geriah Bradley is the Bay Area News Group’s girls athlete of the week for May 31-June 5.
Bradley, a 5-foot-4 sophomore, helped snap the Pirates out of a two-game skid with a game-high 22 points as San Leandro doubled up Alameda and then some, 76-32.
St. Francis softball junior Jessica Oakland and Archbishop Mitty basketball senior Olivia Williams finished a percentage point apart from each other for second and third runners up, with 23.4% and 22.3% of the vote, respectively. Both players led their teams into the Open Division finals for their respective sports.
Congratulations to Bradley, Oakland, Williams and all the others who were in the running.
Candidates for the spring’s final athlete of the week poll will be released Monday, June 14.
