Arrest made in Campbell BB gun shootings that caused $21,700 in damage


CAMPBELL – A 19-year-old San Jose man was arrested last week in connection with a vandalism spree in Campbell that caused $21,700 in damage, according to authorities.

BB gun pellets were fired at numerous businesses and cars between Sept. 21 and Sept. 25, the Campbell Police Department said in a news release Monday. At least 10 incidents of broken glass were reported.

Police used surveillance footage and automated license plate reader technology to identify the man.

Around 9:40 a.m. Friday, detectives served an arrest warrant for the suspect in front of the Bank of America at the Pruneyard Shopping Center. A BB gun was found in his car, police said.

The man was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism and negligent discharge of a BB gun. He has since posted bail.
