Back in September, I wrote about running shoes becoming the next big sneaker trend. Fast forward five months later, and highlighter-bright running shoes are taking light jogs down the runways at New York Fashion Week. As soon as I saw them, my heart skipped ten beats. There truly is no better feeling than the validation of being an early adopter of a soon-to-be huge trend. You know what they say: e arly bird gets the worm. The worm in this sense being style clout, first picks on what’s available, and affordable prices before they get bumped up.
We’re only at the tip of the iceberg when it comes to fashion month trend spotting (London, Milan, and Paris ahead), but there are some nascent trends that are already making waves. The shows may be for the next autumn/winter season, but we never really believed in fashion rules anyway, so we’re jumping on them ASAP.

70s-inspired florals have begun to bloom, and what perfect timing! With more snowfall outside, we’re looking to escape the cold by wearing the flowers we’re not seeing outside. Denial: It’s the best way to cope.

These dresses have a lot of fabric. They’re there to soften the landing and to billow behind you as you walk. Also our preferred outfit of choice when you’ve eaten one entrée too many.

It’s okay if running is the bane of your existence (it is mine as well). I’m here to tell you: you don’t have to be a runner to wear intense running shoes. Whoever calls you a poser, send them my way. Wear them with your fanciest tulle dress (an idea courtesy of Sandy Liang) or before you take a dip in the pool á la Chromat.

Hot! Hot! Pink
Those Crayola bright marker colors from art class are back, and the runways are saturated with “neon carrot” and “laser lemon.” One color that caught our eye: hot pink. It is as if millennial pink has been marinating in itself for the past two years and is finally ready to be opened. Get it while it’s hot.

Run Zebra Run
Out of all the trending prints in the animal kingdom, zebra has come out in front for fall. But this time they dyed their hair with a good dose of Manic Panic for some color and razzle-dazzle.
