FedEx, JCPenney seek to fill hundreds of seasonal positions in Colorado


Seasonal hiring is beginning in earnest as two more employers announced Thursday they will be taking on hundreds of workers in Colorado through the holidays.

FedEx says it will be hiring 55,000 seasonal positions nationwide, including 1,500 at FedEx Ground in Denver. The company is also taking on an additional 75 permanent positions in Denver.

“FedEx offers its team members the chance to grow and reach their full potential thanks to excellent training, affordable medical benefits, and a strong ‘promote from within’ culture,” said Scott Cuffman, Denver senior regional manager for FedEx.

JCPenney also announced its seasonal hiring Thursday. The retailer will be seeking to fill 39,000 posts across the country, including 700 in Colorado. The company will hold a National Hiring Day event Tuesday, Oct. 16. Apply at jcpcareers.com or in-store at an applicant kiosk before attending the event.

Earlier this week, Amazon said it would need to hire more than 2,000 workers in Colorado to help fill and deliver holiday orders at the online retail giant’s fulfillment centers in Aurora and Thornton and at delivery facilities around the metro area.
