A Bellwood man is facing attempted murder charges for allegedly stabbing a 28-year-old man in West Garfield Park earlier this year, according to Chicago police.
Shawn Jackson, 56, faces a felony charge of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and aggravated battery using a deadly weapon, in addition to a warrant being executed, police said. He was arrested Monday.
Jackson is accused of stabbing the man in the 600 block of South Pulaski Road on May 1, police said. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and listed in serious condition at the time.
Jackson is due in court for a detention hearing Wednesday.
