House Republicans rejected a bill passed by their Senate counterparts today that would have restored most funding for the Department of Homeland Security, but not Border Patrol and ICE.
Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) told reporters: “It is absolutely offensive to the people that we represent that the Senate would send over a bill that doesn’t fund Border Patrol and the core components of ICE. Could the Senate be any more lazy than to send to us a bill that doesn’t do the job and then leave town? So we’re going to stand up and say NO to that. We’re going to send back a bill that’s responsible to the American people.”

While some critics of MAGA are responding to Roy with comments including “ICE was already funded under the Big Beautiful Bill Act…Republicans are lying,” other commenters, aligned with the Congressman, are responding with video of Senators spotted at airports leaving D.C., including MAGA-aligned Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).
Below is video of Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) in an airport after sending the bill to the House, saying, “We made some temporary headway, we got a lot of work to do still.” Also circulating are photos of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), whose airport activities have been memes in the past, already boarded on a flight.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune also booked it out of D.C., hopping a plane Friday AM at Reagan National Airport.
