The Green Bay Packers‘ topsy-turvy 2025 campaign came to an end in crushing fashion on Saturday night, as they suffered a horrific fourth-quarter collapse against the Chicago Bears in their wild-card matchup. Despite entering the final frame with a 15-point lead, the Packers could not do what it took to punch their ticket to the divisional round of the playoffs.
This was a tough loss for Green Bay to swallow, especially when considering how it appeared it was in control of the game for much of the night. After the game, safety Javon Bullard opted to take shots at Chicago, as he refused to give it credit for the win, instead blaming his own squad for being able to close the door on their NFC North rival.
Javon Bullard Doesn’t Hold Back on Bears After Packers’ Ugly Loss
For much of this game, the Packers were in control. On offense, Jordan Love was efficiently leading the team up and down the field, as he ended up finishing the night with 323 yards and four touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Caleb Williams and the Bears seemingly could not get anything going, thanks in large part to a slew of self-inflicted mistakes they kept on making.
Chicago has spent much of the 2025 campaign pulling off impressive rallies, though, and that’s precisely what it did here. Williams caught fire at the perfect time, as he led the Bears to 25 points in the fourth quarter. The Packers had several opportunities to end this game, but they could not deliver the finishing blow to their longtime rival.
Credit has to be given to Chicago for finding a way to come out on top in this contest. That’s not the way Bullard sees it, though. The second-year safety was brutally honest when discussing this defeat, saying it was more due to the Packers being unable to shut the door, rather than anything the Bears did.
“No disrespect to them, but it ain’t s*** that they did. It’s us,” Bullard bluntly stated. “We gotta finish. We whooping they a** the whole game, but that’s us. We gotta finish.”

After pulling off a stunning blockbuster trade for Micah Parsons right before the 2025 campaign got underway, there was reason to believe that this was the year the Packers would finally emerge as a de facto Super Bowl candidate. Instead, they earned the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoff bracket for the third-straight year, and they got bounced in the wild-card round for the second season in a row.
Green Bay has a solid infrastructure, but changes may need to be made after this disappointing result. Rumors will surely begin swirling around head coach Matt LaFleur, who is set to enter the final year of his contract with the team, and it’s fair to assume that several key players on this team won’t be back in 2026. The Packers have some work to do, as they will be intent on ensuring this same result doesn’t occur again next year.
