OAKLAND — A 30-year-old Pittsburg man was shot multiple times Sunday morning in the Uptown district, authorities said.
His condition was not immediately available.
The shooting happened about 3:25 a.m. near the intersection of 18th Street and Telegraph Avenue.
Police responding to a gunshot detection system alert found the man, who had been shot at least twice. He was taken to a hospital.
Police were trying to determine a motive for the shooting and whether the man was shot by someone in a passing vehicle or by someone who confronted him on the street.
Anyone with information about the shooting may call Oakland Police Department at 510-238-3426.
There have been other shootings in the Uptown district over the years, including homicides. This September, two men were killed and others were wounded in separate shootings.
