The Daily News girls basketball Top 15 rankings for December 8, 2025:
GIRLS BASKETBALL TOP 10
1. Sierra Canyon (4-1, 0-0): The Trailblazers have been without 2025 Daily News Player of the Year Jerzy Robinson to start the season. Guard Jordyn Malek had 20 points and made six 3-pointers in a win over Fairmont Prep this Saturday.
2. Oak Park (7-3, 0-0): All three of Oak Park’s losses have come to CIF-SS open division teams from last season, including the top team in the state, Ontario Christian. UCSB commit Karisma Lewis had 21 points in a win over Sage Hill this weekend.
3. Valencia (5-1, 1-0): Valencia opened Foothill League play this Friday with a 66-17 win over Hart. Sophomore guard Kamila Basyrova is averaging 18.2 points per game this season.
4. Harvard-Westlake (1-5, 0-0): The Wolverines started their season playing against top competition in the Battle at the Beach tournament at Redondo Union High School. Freshman Lucia Khamenia had 20 points in a game against Flintridge Prep this weekend.
5. Oaks Christian (8-0, 0-0): The Lions have an average margin of victory of 32 points in their eight wins to open the season. Junior guard Presley Kushner is averaging 22.1 points per game this season and had 23 points in a 57-48 win against Notre Dame over the weekend.
6. Notre Dame (3-2, 0-0): Notre Dame has been without last year’s leading scorer and sophomore guard Hamiley Arenas so far this season. MaZiya Randolph is averaging 22.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game to lead the way for Notre Dame so far.
7. Campbell Hall (3-1, 0-0): Campbell Hall’s lone loss of the season came in a 50-49 game against Notre Dame. Charlotte Crosley is averaging 19.8 points per game and Victoria Hernandez is averaging 15.3 points and eight rebounds per game for the Vikings so far this season.
8. Saugus (6-1, 2-0): Saugus had a strong start to Foothill League play this week, winning its first two league games against Castaic and Canyon.
9. Thousand Oaks (6-0, 0-0): Aryanna Lopez is averaging 16.8 points per game and Raquel Daringer is averaging 12 points and 4.2 assists per game so far this season for the undefeated Lancers.
10. Chaminade (1-6, 0-0): Chaminade got in the win column last week with a 52-31 win over Shalhevet.
11. Burroughs (1-5, 0-0): Burroughs kicked off their season at the Konawaena Invitational in Hawaii. The Bears have started their season against tough competition, including Santa Margarita from the Trinity League.
12. Birmingham (6-0, 0-0): Sophomore guard Kayla Tanjiri is averaging 17.8 points per game and Birmingham is looking for their third LA City Section open division title since 2022 this season.
13. Newbury Park (6-1, 0-0): Newbury Park has won six straight, including a 52-2 victory over Santa Clara on November 25th.
14. Burbank (8-2, 0-0): Burbank has scored 90 or more points in two of their games so far this season.
14. Granada Hills Charter: (5-3, 0-0): Granada Hills are 5-1 since starting the season with two losses against Harvard-Westlake and Valencia.
