At least three inches of snow are expected to accumulate Saturday night in the Chicago area, weather officials said.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory from midnight tonight to 9 a.m. Sunday as the area could see between 3 to 5 inches of snow.
The highest amounts of snow are expected north of I-80, though south of the interstate could also see a wintry mix.
Weather officials warned residents to use caution when traveling as the snow could cause hazardous road conditions.
Temperatures Saturday afternoon hovered in the mid 20s, but would drop to the high teens overnight, weather officials said.
