This marks the second consecutive year that the three-Michelin-starred restaurant, owned and operated by Kyle and Katina Connaughton, has earned the highest honor from the Paris-based platform.
“We are incredibly proud of the team for this incredible recognition of all their hard work and dedication,” chef-owner Kyle Connaughton said in an email to The Press Democrat Friday. “It’s such an honor to receive this title in France and to see ‘Healdsburg’ listed amongst some of the most famous and influential culinary cities of the world. It really speaks to the level of products, artisans, farmers and winemakers that we have here in Sonoma.”
Le Bernardin, the acclaimed New York City restaurant that has held the No. 1 spot for nine years running, was the only other U.S. establishment to share the top ranking in the 2026 edition.
The other eight restaurants that secured the top position are spread across seven countries in Europe and Asia.
Founded a decade ago, La Liste compiles its rankings from over 1,000 sources, including national and regional media, expert guides and digital platforms such as customer review sites. The platform’s website and app feature aggregated reviews of more than 40,000 restaurants, 3,000 pastry shops and 7,000 hotels in more than 200 countries.
“La Liste shows that taste no longer has a single capital. The world has become a field of shared excellence,” Philippe Faure, La Liste’s founder and chief executive officer, said in a Nov. 24 news release.
Seventeen other Bay Area restaurants also made the 2026 “Top 1,000 Restaurants” list including Commis in Oakland, The Plumed Horse in Saratoga, Atelier Crenn in San Francisco, The French Laundry in Yountville, Cyrus in Geyserville and Farmhouse Inn Restaurant in Forestville.
